Holistic Therapy
For your mental wellbeing
Why go to therapy? Seeking therapeutic support can be intimidating, but it's important to remember that whatever your reason for considering therapy, it is a valid one. Therapy isn't only about laying on a couch and reflecting on life; it is so much more than that. It can offer you the opportunity to take a step back from the complexity of life and try to make sense of things at your own pace. With psychotherapy, the aim is not simply to ease your symptoms but also get to the root of why you are experiencing them in order to create lasting change. Medication may provide temporary relief from issues such as depression or anxiety, yet only with psychotherapy will you have the chance to really explore and work through the trauma or triggers that have led to this place. Invest in your future self and don't be afraid to take the leap. Read More
Our Psychologists
Tracey Prenter
Clinical Psychologist
BPsych (Honors) (UWC) Masters (Clinical Psychology) (Rhodes University)
Hi, I am Tracey, a registered Clinical Psychologist providing therapy to families, couples, adults, adolescents, and corporate clients from my private practice in Somerset West. I offer a safe and comfortable space where clients can deal with their difficulties and psychological pain.
Sometimes clients engage in therapy because they seek personal growth and simply have a desire to understand themselves better or want to improve their ability to thrive and cope with adversity.
As a committed therapist, I am goal-orientated and prioritise my clients’ psychological and emotional wellbeing. I believe that all human beings are resourceful, have unlimited potential, and the capacity to live courageously. My goal is to be a catalyst who sparks change in people’s lives to help them grow and lead satisfying lives, so that they can ultimately stop coming to therapy. I have been trained in different approaches and design treatment plans that meet the unique needs and goals of all my clients.
The field of psychology is constantly expanding and evolving and I enjoy keeping up with the latest research so that I am in a better position to guide my clients in their therapy processes. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Rhodes University and I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I also currently work part time at Rustenburg Clinic as a consultant and offer supervision to other therapists.
On a personal note, those who know me well would describe me as an energetic, friendly, direct and compassionate person who is interested in others. My core values are freedom, honesty, family, friendship, dependability and harmony. I spend my free time with loved ones or relaxing with a good book.

Hello, I am Roxy, a registered Clinical Psychologist working in private practice in Somerset West. I also currently work part time at Rustenburg Clinic as a consultant. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Western Cape and I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. I work primarily from an integrative approach, and I believe in tailoring the intervention to suit the individual and their needs. I offer a safe and containing space from which clients are able to enact the desired changes and achieve their therapeutic goals. I have been trained in a variety of modalities and incorporate a range of approaches and techniques to suit the individual.
Therapy provides a non-judgmental and safe platform from which we are able to gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the ways in which our past experiences and relationships influence our present. Through increased self-awareness and the development of insight, we can begin to move towards the life we want. I support clients in exploring their history and uncovering patterns to equip them to begin to have more control over their emotions and their choices. I work with clients to identify and work towards their goals whilst supporting them along their journey towards self-discovery. I consider each individual client from a holistic and contextual perspective, taking into account all the various factors that make them who they are and that influence their experiences.
Personally, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. I have a love for animals and enjoy being active, incorporating sport and exercise into my self-care routine. Those who know me well would describe me as being fun, curious, compassionate and humorous. I enjoy reading and view myself as a lifelong learner, I see the benefits of my continued professional development in my therapy sessions.

What to expect from
your therapy journey?
"What you seek, is seeking you."
- Rumi
Therapy is a type of treatment that focuses on helping individuals with dealing with life stressors, addressing mental health problems and facilitating personal growth. It is an interactive process between the therapist and the client, which allows individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviours in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
The main focus of therapy is on providing support and guidance that enables individuals to make changes in their lives in order for them to achieve better overall wellbeing. Therapy is not just about talking; it is also about practising new skills and ways of thinking which can lead over time to lasting positive changes in behaviour and attitude.
Overall, therapy offers individuals a chance to explore themselves more deeply while learning techniques they can apply throughout life when facing difficult situations or emotions, so they have the tools necessary for personal growth and development.
